Egan is a photographer I study with at University. This is a portrait I shot of him in the studio. I want to get more studio and portrait photography in my portfolio so expect to see more of this work soon! Check out Egan’s work […]
Motorbike at Night
This image was shot with available light in the nighttime. I used a slow shutter speed to blur out the background, exaggerating the motion and producing light streaks.
Si In London
I took some of my friends to London with me on a trip and we toured around the landmarks at night. In the background you can see the lights of the London Eye. This was shot in front of Buckingham Palace.
London Buildings Slice Up The Sky
These are buildings near City Hall and Tower Bridge in London. They’re all shiny glass and metal and sharp edged, and they contrast nicely with Tower Bridge and other more historic buildings in the area. They’re so tall that the walkway below is almost constantly […]
Old vs New at St Pauls
I enjoy exploring the clash of the new and old, and this is from near St Paul’s Cathedral.
People with Long Shadows
This was shot outside St Paul’s Cathedral where the tall surrounding buildings create bright streaks of light across the square in front of the Cathedral. I really like the texture of the cobbles here and the shadow of the streetlight and the woman.
Hard Light in The City
I spent the day wandering around the financial centre of the world and (similar to my experience at the base of the Gherkin) I thought a lot about how little sky was visible because of the huge towering buildings. It creates a surreal kind of […]
The Gherkin Meets Ground
This is the base of the Gherkin, the iconic curvy skyscraper in London that features in every establishing shot of London ever. You don’t often get to see where the building connects to the earth, but when I went there I was taken aback by […]
Old vs New at The Bank Of England
The Bank Of England is housed in the building in the lower left hand corner of this image. It is an institution over 300 years old, and behind it the city is growing above it. I like the clash of architecture in these shots.
Elizabeth Tower, London
The Elizabeth Tower was renamed in 2012 for the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. The bell in the top of the tower is known as Big Ben.
